_Common Sense is a multi-media exhibition of new paintings, music and poetry in both Welsh and English, which is touring venues across South Wales, including castles, converted cinemas and libraries, arts centres, and Welsh Assembly Government buildings.
The subject is inspired by the beautiful landscape and rich history of Gelligaer and Merthyr Common. The Common is an area of some 8000 acres of upland moor, approximately 14 miles to the north of Cardiff, which has attracted visitors from all walks of life for hundreds of years.
This unique mobile exhibition is free and will be travelling extensively in South Wales, taking in many local communities which might not normally find such a thing on their doorstep. Common Sense will tour with its own exhibition screens and audio guides, providing a wide ranging menu of opportunities for participation, making it a great project for schools, and providing a rare chance for groups with a special interest to get involved, and meet the creators.
